Conference Overview

Trillium Health Partners’ Insight Health Solutions and Wounded Warriors Canada are pleased to announce the upcoming 2024 Ontario First Responders’ Mental Health Conference. Building on the success of the inaugural event in May 2023, which reached full capacity with 500 attendees, the conference garnered praise for its exceptional content, high-caliber speakers, professionalism, organization, and overall enjoyable experience.

The conference is scheduled for May 14-15, 2024 in Mississauga, Ontario. May 14th is a limited enrollment interactive roundtable discussion addressing the challenges faced by First Responder families, followed by an evening reception at the Hilton Airport Hotel & Suites. May 15th will feature a full day of speakers and workshops at the International Centre.

This event will feature frontline members, First Responder family members, organizational leaders, mental health clinicians, and renowned researchers like Dr. Nick Carleton. The focus will be on sharing best practices, hearing directly from First Responders and research related to the mental health of First Responders and their families. Keynote addresses will be delivered by Thomas Carrique, Commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police, and Dr. Hayley Wickenheiser Olympic gold medalist, Medical Doctor, Author, and AGM of Player Development for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Who should attend?

This conference aims to bring together a diverse audience, including First Responders, leaders, and representatives from First Responder organizations, associations, and unions, healthcare professionals, disability case managers, rehabilitation providers, employers, researchers, peer support organizations, worker’s compensation, insurers, and all those dedicated to enhancing the mental health and well-being of First Responders and their families.

Trillium Health Partners – Insight Health Solutions
A new kind of health care for a healthier community.

Insight Health Solutions, a division of Trillium Health Partners provides third-party disability management services to Ontario residents directly and through partnerships, including secure telehealth services. As a full continuum of care provider, Insight Health Solutions offers disability management, comprehensive assessment and evidence-based interdisciplinary treatment across a broad range of physical and mental health conditions, diagnostic imaging, expedited surgery, and prevention programs. Insight Health Solutions’ interprofessional team of physicians and allied health professionals work collaboratively to ensure clients receive the appropriate care at the right time. Insight Health Solutions’ clients include the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, automobile insurers, short and long-term disability insurers, employers, and private pay customers.

In agreement with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, Insight Health Solutions offers a mental health assessment and treatment specialty program for First Responders. This pilot program offers stepped-care mental health treatment, including residential care, in-person and virtual services, return to work coordination, physical reactivation, and after-care services tailored to the needs of First Responders.

Wounded Warriors Canada is a national mental health service provider offering a range of clinically facilitated and culturally appropriate programs that address the unique and complex mental health needs of Veterans, First Responders and their families.
